Nerikomi Pebble Lamp Base

This time last week, I was watching my highly bespoke plates being used on one of my favourite Tv shows, and there was even a shout out which was a lovely little surprise. What a nice way to start the new year, so thank you to all involved.
.
This week, I’ve been busily working on some really exciting things behind the scenes and this beauty was finished yesterday. It’s the culmination of months of work leading up to this piece and I’m just thrilled with the results.
.
It’s an art piece really. A sculpturally functional one. Although my studio gallery at Cedar Farm aims to deliver affordable and accessible handmade ceramics, I do think it’s important to offer some art pieces for collectors. I get a lot personally out of making distinctive art pieces too. I’m often thinking about them for months, refining and designing in my mind before I make them. Partially, because I’m busy with commissions and struggle to fit in time to make them, but also because a lot of testing happens with other projects that lead up to these art pieces. The natural evolution if you will.
